Dandadan Vol. 1 (English) – VIZ Media Manga

Momo doesn't believe in aliens. Okarun doesn't believe in ghosts. Both are about to be proven very wrong.

What starts as a dare — Momo investigating a UFO sighting, Okarun exploring a haunted tunnel — turns into the first chapter of one of the most tonally ambitious series running today. Tatsu balances genuine horror, sharp comedy, and an unexpectedly sincere romance without any of it undercutting the others, and the art does a lot of the heavy lifting: the creature designs here are more unsettling on the page than they came across in the anime adaptation.

Rated Mature — this volume leans into body horror and crude humor alongside the laughs, so it's not a "cute premise, tame execution" read. Readers who enjoy that mix will find Vol. 1 sets the tone for the whole series.
